Software Engineer

Technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming
Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written
Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains those programs. Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities, but requires instruction and guidance in other phases.
Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming
Participates in full project development lifecycle.
Learns and applies existing and new system processes, methodologies, and skills that lead to new systems which contribute significantly to the business or department
Applies problem solving abilities to familiar and unfamiliar technical disciplines
Test programs, to include unit tests, usability testing, regression testing, system testing for all aspects of their program.

Principal Software Engineer

Duties and Responsibilites:
Sage Software is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to work on our SalesLogix product line. You will be part of a team that is delivering an international software application! You will be responsible for enhancing the current SalesLogix client platform, and introducing new, rich, Windows and Web 2.0 features. Develop .NET, C, Windows Forms, ASP.NET, and WPF/Silverlight. Design, estimate, code, test and debug new product line features. Develop scalable high performance applications.
*Must work effectively in an innovative, collaborative, agile development environment
*Designs, analyzes, writes code, modifies and debugs application infrastructure
* Performs under minimal supervision on complex software development assignments
Required:
• Strong understanding of current .NET technologies, object-oriented programming practices, and N-tiered architecture
• 3+ years of experience with .NET required
• Experience with the following technologies: ASP.NET/ Windows Forms, MS Visual Studio and SQL
Preferred:
* Experience as a Team Lead and Mentor
* Javascript framework experience(jQuery, ExtJS), including Object Oriented Javascript

Entry Level Software Engineer

Job Responsibilities
This individual would become an integral part of the Office of the CTO (OCTO) team and would receive continuous direction and supervision from principal architects. This is a high visibility entry level position offering career growth in several areas.

The envisioned role will be created to begin the work of transforming corporate capabilities; improve Progress’ current business capability with respect to competitive analysis, interoperability testing and demo creation. It is expected that this role would carry out the tactical work of establishing a competitive/interoperability lab, installing and assembling the environments necessary to execute competitive, interoperability and demo creation activities, and establishing the processes and methodologies to carry out continuous research and analysis in these areas. Day to day activity of this role will place the individual in constant contact with Product Marketing and Product Management teams, providing additional experiential exposure.

This individual must have an enthusiasm for the competitive aspect of this role: ‘discovering the competitor’s weakness for exploitation’, so to speak. They must be motivated to go on the exploration for situations where our strengths can be leveraged. The individual would also need to be clever and creative in the technical approaches they employed to carry out their objectives efficiently. They must also be meticulous enough to execute the objective with precision, deep insight and attention to detail

Roles and Responsibilities:

Become proficient on Progress, eco-system and competitive products in order to carry out the objectives below.

Build Demonstrations and PoC’s ‘kits’ related to integration patterns, event fabric, mash-ups, web services, process orchestration, etc.

Qualifications
• Energetic individual with a BSCS and attention to detail and eagerness to learn
• Prior experience with systems administration and/or writing code in Java, Java EE, .NET is a plus
• Good communication and problem solving skills
• Works well in a team environment

SOFTWARE PRODUCT ANALYST
